... Sure enough, the valley just divided in two, and I'm supposed to take the right valley. Glad I caught that! I could've hiked the whole day up the wrong valley. Back to the correct valley, I find a little village that hasn't quite woken up ...

... of Triesenburg. Here each house is separate from the others, American style, and the streets all run along the mountain, making finding a way up a bit of a challenge. Finally I reach what I guess is the "center" of town which is really just the Rathaus, a church, a store a and a library. (other than perhaps the "night with the slugs" in Caiolo!) The entire stretch has be fun, beautiful and interesting. So I doesn't feel like I've made a big sacrifice to reach this goal. Hiking the Alps is most likely going to go down in history as my favorite trek of them all.

Up ahead I see a wall ...

... graze to the sound of a symphony of cowbells--and there's a statue to the famous book character. From here I take a quieter road that climb up over a small mountain pass and into Leichtenstein. I pass what I was hoping was one last village--but no, it's just a hotel, a couple of farm houses and a "war museum"--seems a bit out of place here in Switzerland. And now I'm within a stone's throw of my prize: ...
