... along the Thompson River and through desert surrounded by plateaus and mountains throughout much of the day. Along the way, we saw our share of wildlife. Osprey and their nests, bald eagles and their nests (See pics.) and big horn sheep. While we saw several sheep, my excitement overtook my photo-shooting abilities every time to the point that I passed the camera to Mary, regrettably, to no avail! We have gone about 300 miles today and it took 10 hours - that averages to 30 miles per hour. Jeff likened it to the Bataan Death March. When we look around, we seem to be the only people that are in a hurry. Most of the passengers are Australians or Europeans... Are Americans so much more in a hurry than other nations?? We saw 2 ...

... in sunshine at Savona in the late afternoon. Margaret, our hostess, was very welcoming and gave us an upgrade to a lake view room. The room reminded us a bit of the one we had in Stratford-on-Avon a few years ago – Irene will understand why biros are being looked after carefully!! We had time for a walk by the lake before tea in the local diner. It’s a lovely peaceful spot except when then the Canadian Pacific trains rumble ...
