      ... of their own, to read it - and I'm glad to say we did stay at a very pleasant hotel which served the best fresh green veg risotto I've ever tasted. There are some good things happening.

      But if I had to live here in one of those faded, depressing flats down on the asphalted beach front, I'd be planning my escape route 24/7.

      Which brings me to something nice in Folkestone - the little boats in the harbour. One was called Caractacus - a nice link ...

      The middle of the town has retained it's old character and many old pubs, taverns and workshops, although most of them are now pubs and souvenir shops.
