Wednesday 8 October today we left Bucharest for Veliko Tărnovo. Enroute we stopped to visit the Ivanovo Rock hewn Churches which are included in the UNESCO list Of World and Cultural Heritage. After slowly climbing a rather steep gradient we reached the main church in the rock. The frescos were amazing as were the views across the limestone canyon which had been carved by rivers thousands of years ago. The walk down the steps saw our knees ...

... wedding on 31st October. Well Gabrovo didn't let us down. The weather was perfect for getting that pre wedding tan, the Gym was used to get that pre wedding body shape, the food was brilliant as ever to challenge that pre wedding body shape,( if only wedding breakfast food in England was as cheap as this)  and the Zagorka did it's job to ease the pre wedding nerves. Vlad even produced a new kitten for Hannah (who is a bit of ...

I'll try to recreate the experience with a short video I took, but it hardly does it ...

    ... to know.
So this morning, after a few run-of-the-mill sightseeing stops we headed to the top of the mountain range overlooking the Valley of Roses toward the peak of Buzludzha and its famous communist monument that had nary a guidebook mention.
Hovering in the clouds, it was an impressive sight from the bottom of the hill just below. It was immediately apparent at its foot the massive building had been abandoned many years ago. Our guide showed ...

    ... know Bling!

This week Bulgarians’ (and the world) were shocked by the terrorist bombing attack on a bus of Israelis’ killing 6 in retaliation for the killing of an Iranian scientist. We were only 30km away from the Burgas Airport where Bulgaria’s first terrorist attack happened. I get angry over such stupid religious/political insanity that kills innocent people for NO gain. For a ...
