... was our experience. The staff were ok, helpful in places. Sleeping Inn was the name of the hostel and location was good as well. Like Cairns, the "backpackers" seemed to be interested in doing one thing, drinking. Why come to the other side of the world to do something you do at home is beyond me. Anyway our off-building didn't seem too bad at first, they bunched the double rooms for couples into one area of the building. I can only compare it to some of ...

... water while we were “parked” was much smoother and I could barely feel the boat rocking. I sent Martin out to snorkel and have a good time since this was his first time snorkeling/scuba diving and I didn't want him to miss out just because my body hates the ocean. Day 106

Successfully had a lie in this morning. Got up and checked out and had breakfast at the hostel's cafe downstairs. Really good it was too. Only just made it to the bus stop mind, as the transfer from the hostel was late! Still, we boarded and took just over 3 hours to get to Surfers Paradise. Had to put our clocks back an hour too, but it was literally at a roundabout of a town we passed through (Queensland has daytime saving, New South Wales doesn't). Waited ...

... usually like 8 or 9. You can't even buy water that cheap in some places. Funny night because Brit got chucked out for swearing at a bouncer lol. Waking up to the pool literally outside your room was a nice moment this morning. Sun was beating down and we were in this little hostel surrounded by massive hotels and apartment buildings. Was rude not to lie in the sun for a couple of hours. The girls eventually showed their face and we took a walk down ...

... decided. We would go out after all. I have no idea why we decided to go out. We were obviously quite ready for bed, but somehow, after realising that we were both deaf - we would go out and get drunk. I mean.. what is even the rationale behind that? It's not like an one legged person would walk into a room to discover another one legged person chilling out, and they would decide to go out and get legless.. I'm sorry, please excuse that tastefully offensive pun. Her name was ...
