I've found myself back in Singapore, and this time I have ventured outside the airport. Everything is so clean and efficient, Singapore is a very modern, rich and busy city. The underground has re-usable cards instead of tickets. You get half your fare back if you put the card back into one of the ticket machines. The buildings are shiny and modern, the cars expensive and the clothes ultra stylish. It's nice to be in a place where I don't feel so rich. I had began to feel a little guilty in B...
Singapore, Singapore, Singapore bernie-sBags packed under 20kg- might I add. We headed off Monday morning all excited to drive on the NEW TUGUN BYPASS. To our disappointment it was closed!!! We arrived in Singapore to find Josh's bag was a no show. The poor guy first time out of the country and they lose his bag... However, the bag ended up turning up and once our transfer picked us up for a second time we headed to our hotel. We had to wait for a while for our transfer to turn up as he turned up the first time and left because we ...
Singapore, Singapore happytravellersWell, after the hustle and bustle of last minute packing and a nice Red Rooster lunch at the airport, we waved goodbye and descended the escalator in grand anti-climactic style to the departure lounge. Fortunately it wasn't long until boarding so we didn't have too much time to kill. The flight was pretty good for an 8-hour flight, actually. There were jetstreams while we flew over Queensland so we stayed around 10000 m the whole time, which meant we got to see the dry countryside between Bri...
Singapore, Singapore kianastarSorry People it's been awhile since we could get to a PC that actually works :-)) We're now in Cambodia, Siem Reap but I'll fill you in on as much as possible before our taxi comes. Singapore was a blast. We met up with one of Chauey's friends Joanne who helped us visit some of the best eating spots in Singapore. We made our way around on the MRT train system without-out too many problems, we only lost two of our group the one time :-)) Both Lien and Phong weren't quick enough getting on the ...
Singapore, Singapore luvlifetravelMon 19th December Packed and checked out of Rambuttri Village Inn, ate some lunch, updated the Blog and headed for the airport for the short one and a half hour flight to Singapore. Didn't arrive until about seven pm but hadn't actually arranged any accommodation as it appeared our emails to STA had never been sent so we decided to head for the 'Summer View Hotel' in bugis anyway. We caught the MRT, which was the cheapest and cleanest train I had ever used and eventually found the hotel at ab...
Singapore, Singapore richsarasloperA visit to this "dot-in-a-map" country will truly impress any Filipino. A country with no natural resources to speak of , it has outdone its neighbors that are more blessed by nature's bounty. Talk about discipline...talk about good governance...no garbage, no flooded streets, no traffic... Gia and I enjoyed what it has to offer...an MRT system that has stops in almost every points of interest...a bus system that is so efficient that when it says it will arrive at 1:30pm...it does! ..off we w...

... US that showed pedicures involving fish that would eat the dead skin off of your feet but had never seen any spas that offered this service. Well, they're quite popular here in Singapore and I was very excited to check them out. The fish are called Garra rufa or "doctor fish" and are used to help heal psoriasis and increase blood circulation. I thought I would receive the treatment and have super smooth feet but in reality I just had a neat experience. After sticking my ...
Singapore, Singapore aliciay98... I think this means there isn't a cage or net. Whatever it means they look happy in their huge enclosure. The night Safari is also good fun, very well executed. First we took a tram ride through the park and had a gander at nocturnal animals from across Asia, Africa and South America. The design team have cleverly recreated moonlight so not to beam masses of light but still illuminate the exhibits. Having been on a real safari not so long ago I wasn't quite as impressed as the ...

There are also alot of beautiful carpets in through here. We than walked over into the Little India Village and here we found it more disorganized and dirty. Men were sitting at little tables here dipping their food into all differnt types of sauces and no women around. There was a fresh food market and all the differnt types of noodles. We then ...
