    ... occasions. Had a wonderful Greek snack at a local restaurant, local produce and fresh. Was also a Birthday celebration, they surprised Rolf with a delicious black forrest cake. In his excitement, George spilt the OUZO.........

    ... the Greek economy. We saw some ruins on our tour but overall the areas we saw were quite modern many with breathtaking views. Hamish suggested that we go to the Pink Palace but our tour didn't go past there. Perhaps next time! After the tour we got off the bus at Corfu Town and had a quick bite to eat in the main square.     ... the afternoon we took a trip by coach to a ruined castle high above the town. The trip up was memorable for the climb and the narrowness of the road. The scenery at the top was spectacular. We were able to look inland at the mountains for which the Balkans are known, and seaward across the Ionian Sea towards Corfu and Italy.
