This is definitely Coyote Country. We in Montana pronounce the word "Ki-yot" with a long O and no E sound at the end. It must be derived from the way the old fur trappers spoke. That's my theory anyway... Whenever the sun darkens in the sky, the little howlers start to yip and yap. It's not a real howl, but more like a sound of unrest. ... it should be a good evening. Our reservations are up tomorrow, so our plan is to head over to an RV park near Kingman, AZ. We'll be going in to Las Vegas to meet brother/wife, Bob and Cheryl. They're coming because it's their 20th anniversary and my 70th birthday, but mostly because they got a really good rate through the American Legion. The trail now opened out into the hidden valley , a flat dry river bed surrounded by huge boulders each side with only one way in and one way out..it was amazing and continued to have a few challenges along the way . .. an outcrop of rocks with a 20 foot drop , we slide down on our bottoms, and a few low tunnels we had to duck under..one of the most interesting walks we had been on..
