    Beach Paradise

A travel blog entry by anlnewby on Jun 11, 2015

Today started like the last few. An early wake up for me and a nice gentle sleep in for Lisa. Today Lisa was happy to make breakfast and did a wonderful job. The day started cloudy and we weren't sure whether it would be a good day to camp out at the beach for the whole day. We decided to go anyway and the cloud cover soon moved to a beautiful sunny day. The water was amazing and fresh like ice to our warm ...

... a lot smaller and shopping is limited. But we walked around town all evening, stopping for a delicious brownie crêpe to share. We took the taxi back to our resort and parted our ways for bed. I had a shower before I went to sleep and I'll never forget the grossness of the bathrooms. Apparently soap isn't a thing in Ios! Air conditioning is five euros a day, so we decided not to get it. The sea was calm again so we only did a little sailing and mostly used the motor to Mykonos, the most commercial and touristy of the Cyclades (with the exception of Santorini?).

... and then on the bus down to the port. We got on a medium sized sail boat and we were off on our adventure. We sailed about half way around the island stopping at various spots to swim and have some fun. The spots that we stopped at were amazing, almost like you were in a movie. The water was so clear and the water was warm and there were fish and beautiful rocks, it was incredible. We finally ended on our own private beach where the crew made us dinner ...

... and had some breakfast. We went to the beach all day. It was called Paradise. We brought our own booze even though Im not sure we were suppose to. Oh, and the sand here isnt sand at all. It is exactly like those little rocks at a playground, and it wasnt so nice to walk all over. Also, Paradise has water for about 3 meters and then a huge rock/reef here and then more water on the other side. Of course, me being adventurous and ...
