In the afternoon we headed for another type of animal enclosure - heading for the prostitute filled road that is The Golden Mile in Ban Chang. We had a brief drink at friend/pimp Perry's Sports Bar before checking out the nearby beaches and heading back for base (via a clinic for Phil, where amusingly he was initially directed to the next door Vet's) at the end of what had been a fantastic day in the Land of Smiles...

Day 36 - Shopping and an 80s night
... As I slipped Ryan managed to catch me as he was tidying up things in the bathroom when I slipped. I was close to hitting my head on the side of the bathtub but instead hit my arm, wrist, hip and knee. After this happened Ryan wouldn't let me stand in the bathtub and made me sit while the shower sprayed on me. I was sitting in there for about half an hour trying to wash myself and Ryan kept checking on me. I felt really bad because Ryan was pretty shaken up by my near death ...

The grim but entertaining Pattaya!
... for it instead. It was definitely a lively town but I found it a little annoying because all of the cheap drinks were in the girlie bars. Lucy and I decided to go for it and went into one of the go go bars to take full advantage of the lower priced beverages.

Pattaya, you wouldn't believe it....
... tops for rain. They try to pack a dozen people in the back, which is fine if you are dealing with tiny little Thai women. But plus sized people from Sweden, Germany, Russia and Hawaii, don’t pack that tight in my opinion. This perception on my part lead to Barb and I walking a quarter mile down the road in the heat of the day.
