... meats except they must be consumed within three days of being smoked. Otherwise the meat will turn bad, slimy, and poisonous." Nice.

So just how does a potential consumer tell if the meat is older than three days old you ask? Good question, and that's why I am here for you to scour the earth for cultural oddities far removed from our daily American lives. Check the dog's eyes...they should not be red. Red eyes mean that the dog was smoked more than three days ago and you ...
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia atlpilot36... Complex, 88300 Kota Kinabalu. Sabah www.haminLodge.com tel:+6088272008) so wasn't in a great rush to move on. It was also very central and could walk everywhere including the overabundant shopping malls!!!! The Starbucks just a couple of blocks away with wifi also contributed to slowing down the pace!!! I also spent a day on Sapi Island snorkling off the beach which was great. Lonely Planet states that it is not a very busy ...
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia mikajfb... Im in their country, they are doing me a favor by speaking to me at all. They owe me nothing, and are not obligated to help me... so when I ask for directions and get all squiffy because the guy cant speak English... how abnoxious am i?

6. How to barter.... Do you ever feel weird or strange about bartering with someone in a foreign country on the price for something? Don't because they don't think ...
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia karencazemier... There was also a dance show which presented dances from different tribes in the area. After the show we headed back to the hotel for a nap and I decided I wanted to go and see the new Wolverine movie, I had heard so much about it and was dying it to see it. We went to the movie and luckily it was in English with subtitles. Wolverine rocks. After the movie we went to the fish market again and since this was Jessie's first time, we shared tuna and squid. Yummy. Im really digging the squid.
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia savageharmony... It is unbelievable how men-like these animals are, but I guess that's hardly surprising since they share 94.6 percent of our human DNA.
The next day we continued our wildlife quest and went to see crocodiles. Not my favourite kind of animal though, since having been to the Everglades as a kid and being terrified by those things coming too close to our boat...
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia eye_of_beholderVacation Time My school offers the most vacation time at the end of winter. We have a week off for the Chinese New Year and then roughly a month later the foreigners get the first week of March off. The first of these two weeks Helen and I ventured to Malaysian Borneo on a free package tour for about four days. The second week, while Helen attended workshops and managed other student-less work at school, I headed to peninsular Malaysia with some foreign school ...
Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Malaysia wjrohde... and it was pouring with rain - I woulda stayed under my leafy tree instead of turning up to eat some fruit and milk whilst being gawked at by 30 camera pointing tourists! And considering the fact that Orangutans have been found to have 94% the same genes as humans...I would have accepted their absence in this situation... However - shortly after arriving at said feeding platform, we seen something moving in the distance which slowly materialised into our first ...
Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia katandstevie... she would never get her. It was so great to see her! All at Ballyman, i promise i will look after her! I am not aware of many Girlie Bars in Borneo....so we should be safe! It took us a while to hook up at the airport in Kota Kinabalu yesterday mainly because we were in different Terminal buildings about 20 minutes drive away! Luckily the guy from the hotel who was sent to pick us up sussed this and managed to herd us both up and bring us here ...
Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia sallypoff... day's diving. To get into Indonesia, I'd planned to drop south into Kalimantan, Indonesia's Borneo state. I bused it to Tawau to get my visa from the consulate, only to turn up and be told the consulate was closed for the next six days due to Ramadan. So, plan B. Fly from Tawau to KK and onwards to Jakarta where I would be able to obtain my visa on arrival at the airport. Not too much of a re-route, but this meant I was forced to travel all the way ...
