... For main I had lamb kofta and Pete had the Iskender Kebab. Both were ok. Meat overload. Although we were full, we shared a baklava for desert. We wandered around the pool area after dinner (trying to walk off some of that meal). Very beautiful at night. The craziness of activity from the day is gone. The place is deserted as we walked around in the still, warm evening. With full bellies, we fell into our huge soft bed for a well deserved ...

... br> This whole city is built on a sandpit as far as one can see. Amazing what man can do with concrete and formwork. Any I managed to catch a couple of big ones but I am pretty sure that they are not local fauna. Still, I can see that there are plenty of big game around. Males in white dresses and females in black dresses. Pretty simple dress code so it’s not too confusing. The head scarf thingy is all the rage.

The aircon chilled the room so much that I got cold when I woke up. It was only 8 but I wasn't really in the mood yet to go and explore the place.

I have to admit, now on the road all alone it was a bit sad sitting there, knowing I wouldn't have anyone to share this with immediately.

It was the first time for me to properly travel alone and it was different than I had expected. The hostel wasn't a hostel, the room was empty besides on sleeping guy. ...

... up. Oh yeah haha..... Of course there would be a bloody camel on the beach! Giving Western and it's donkeys a run for it's money! A bloody mirage indeed! The Burj Al hotel took me at least 10 min in a taxi to get to from that camel checkpoint. I would have collapsed from heat exhaustion by them. Glad I didn't carry on walking though, because I got there and realised you have to book/pay to get in. F**K that! I took a picture, a rubbish one at that :( ...
