... a defence training base - is sparsely populated and I can't really imagine why anyone would want to live here.
Our morning stop was at the Joshua Tree visitors centre just before we entered the National Park.
Very rugged country in the park - Joshua Trees coming into view. They don't grow arms until after they bloom for the first time.

We had a couple of stops ...

... right? I don't even have pictures because like I said, I didn't go anywhere. I have two days off of work this week: Sunday and Monday. Since the weather is supposed to be nice and warm, I will for sure go shopping on State Street and go to beach, my two favorite activities! I am excited that I finally get to do something of my life while I am here. I also might go to the Zoo. YAY!

    See you!

Eventually reached the top & a great ride down, then as wiz zing along suddenly a herd of deer in the road, we were actually at a state park & the deer didn't seem at all frightened of us. Then we reach Highway 101 so turn left towards Santa Barbara, what a difference now we're in traffic but the shoulder is really wide, still some long hills though. It's really confusing ...

... we happened upon a surf board menorah! What a sight! I wish we had some time to dance with the DJ and spin a few dreidles but I should be honest, I was hungry. We met the "old folks" (Amir's Mom, Dad and Aunt) and ate a very nice lunch then ventured to Newport Beach for some macaroons (obviously my idea!). They were delish! We ended the night back at Aunt Nasra's house for an awesome dinner of lamb, chili and rice with ...
