After a short 15 minute drive from my hotel I arrived at Cape Panwa beach. It is so incredibly tranquil and would be the perfect place for a quite day at the beach with some fun swimming opportunities and great scenic views that create great photo opportunities. Its sand is rather rough and the water shallow but it's certainly ...

We did not go there for the day, one of our excursions included a visit to Bamboo island for 40 min. White sand and blue crystal clare water. Pranang beach. Was a cool place, very small thou, but enough place to get a pretty quite spot. There are Pranang caves at the end of the beach and they also have those bungalow type hotels on the beach. ... I liked. Probably dragged my bag around town on a hot day for three kilometers in the process.

Got a nice big room with air conditioning, hot shower and [so far] functioning wifi for 450 baht a night. Better than what Lonely Planet was suggesting for the area...and what you would get if you went to their recommended places due to the Lonely Planet Effect (higher prices and reduced experience than what's in the book).
