Summer Breeze still comfy in the Fall!

Located right in the midst of the Emerald Coast on Scenic Hwy 98, Summer Breeze is literally steps away from the beach! From our balcony, we could hear the crashing of the surf and see the colors of the sky, sea and sand!
Our 1 BR condo had room enough for 6 to sleep comfortably, but would have been a circus with the use of only 1 bath! As this trip was for 2 and our Jack Russell, Sammy, we had no problems! The whole unit was decorated in a seaside/beach theme of colors, clever painting, interesting art/decorations and a well appointed kitchen, even with tropical/lighthouse themed dishes! The bedroom had one king bed that was comfortable enough, but I am used to a softer mattress. The only complaint was that the exterior corridor lights bled into the front room all night and made it harder to fall into slumber! Otherwise our accommodations were lovely and clean!

... enjoying the beach scenery as we passed through Mississippi, and without realizing it, we were already in Alabama. In the meantime, there had been a couple of minor rain showers, just a little drizzle here and there to cool us off. We didn't mind, the temperature was great. Once we got closer to Mobile, the scenery was more strip mall and traffic lights, but once out of town, the scenery improved again.

... sensation! Warm weather wimps, the pair of us :-) Left at 1pm to drive to Ochlockonee. Nice forest next to the river and a famous albino squirrel it seems. They are fast!!! I was watching and chasing that squirrel with my camera for ages and then finally got a shot at it the next day, shortly after the big grey squirrel (these are bigger than Manatee Springs) came and joined us for ...

... in the career Jordan is in, we don't get to travel much for pleasure or places we want to see necessarily. He did some research of places we could get to fast and still have a ton of fun, which ended with us packing our bags to go to St. Augustine, FL! Here is where the adventure begins!! ...

Disappointing Destin

So we arrived at this very nice house and we were greeted by a strange guy who immediately asked us to take our shoes off at the door. He showed us the kitchen and explained do not take food or drink upstairs so we were like ok. He said if we go to the beach we need to wash our feet on arrival and use the towel he has left outside. So after our marching orders we proceeded to bed. The next day we woke up ...

What's nice about a "beach vacation" is that everyone can pretty much do what they want without needing to get into a car. Tim and Chris had their workouts, daily computer/telephone work time but always interrupted by trips to the beach and paddle board sessions. Grandpa took morning beach walks with a grandchild but managed to frequently disappear ...
