          ... we used to be and may have over indulged a little - judging by the not particularly straight line Lisa was taking home. But it was while having these drinks that the real excitement began. After 10 years, my beautiful and talented wife sang for me - and the dozen or so others present. It was fantastic and I owe big thanks to our new friend "Gun" who managed to get her up and singing, and they were an amazing band who were great fun.

          ... mountain back to the busy towns and to the famous Ubud market. We returned to the hotel by 6.30 in time for Elaine to have her hot stone massage that she missed out on the day before and Sharyl Marco and I had cocktails by the pool to wait for her. For some reason they did not charge us for our cocktails. Elaine loved her massage. Back to our rooms and ordered in pizzas and spring rolls. Finished off the sherry and a red wine and Phillipa came and played cards with us. Late ...

          ... spring would be.  I'll never complain about having to have a cold shower again!!! The bus drivers in Indonesia appear to have attended the same Formula One School for Asian Bus Drivers as the Philippino bus drivers have attended.  These guys seem to be fulfilling all their boyhood fantasies of race car driving, only with a bus!!!  They are absolute speed demons.  Its a good job we're usually sat near the rear of the bus and can't see out the front ...

          We had been checking Balangan beach break for the past week but the waves have not been that great. We headed down yesterday but were skunked and didnt go out. Today the tide and the waves were in our favour. We thank the ocean gods and we had a session.

          Dev and I rented some glass boards from the next Warung to Froggies Dev took a 6'2" and I an 8'0", like my Person Arrow at home.

          We paddled out, it was still high tide but we could see the reef below us. ...

          ... of beaches with a great walk way along the beach. Shops, bars and restaurants are prevalent along the walkway. You can find just about everything you need or want along the stretch or on the main road, about a block away.
