Farewells were harder and more tearful than I'd anticipated but I set off from LHR with full bags, despite the depleted tissue stock and an open mind on my return date. Day 1 was possibly the day that would never end but I made it safely to my 'Caribbean Paradise' dwellings in Playa Del Carmen exhausted but just about in one piece. Playa del Carmen is a huge resort town but the beach is pleasant with lots of things to explore nearby. My reservations about the ...

The owner let us have a shower and then we jumped in a taxi to catch the boat back to Playa Del Carmen. When we arrived in Playa we noticed another Senor Frogs so I got to get a souvenir tshirt and had a drink before catching the bus to Tulum.

    We had decided to ...

... and soft corals. There were a variety of fish, mostly smaller fish than we've seen the past 2 days, although we did see a couple of huge grouper. Emily and I did see a shark and a ray, but they were too far off to photograph.

    Dive #2: Las Palmas
The current was much less here. This was another area with lots of soft corals and sponges. There were absolutely tons of wrasses and other smaller fish. We did come across a ...
