... they could proceed down the parade route. The Mardi Gras beads and balls were a big hit and their entry a big success. After the parade the crowd moved to the Malecon where a live band was playing music. We stayed back and out of the elbow to elbow crowd of party goers but had fun with our friends. We were surprised at the large turn out for this small town. Population being around 900. The ...

... time is code for 1 1/2 hrs later. And yes, at 8:00 the dancers arrived.

We ordered dinner and as always, no ice tea so I asked for water. Unfortunately I must have been off gawking at something when he said "con gas" because I always as for it without. What I loved about Manzanillo is its feeling of incompleteness and the juxtaposition of the old and the new. It's struggle to find its tourism identity in the midst of the dust and stone is quite poetic. You'll know what I mean when you get thre. If you are headed to Mexico and are looking to get away from the populous tourist spots with Mexican charm, give Manzanillo a try.
