Diego resigns, we visit ruins and drink tequila

... br>
When we got back to the hotel, my bed broke so I had to sleep on a tilt all night. I had to give one of the girls a sleeping tablet just so she could get through the trauma of the hotel room.

The next day we headed to Chitchen Itza, "the Disneyland of Mexico' as Diego described it - the first time he has said anything sensible all tour. It is an amazing Mayan site (more ruins!) but lacking in any of the atmosphere we have seen at other places, as it is overrun with ...

... was thinking or just leaving us hanging in suspense just for the craic? Anyway we drank up their for a while and met a couple of Girls from Worcester and Sheffield, there`s not actually been that many British travellers to speak of its a bit of a novelty. Have met mostly European and American so far. Their was some good music here and at about 2am me Fred and the Canadian guy got a cab into town, the place we wanted to go the other night, and managed to get into an Irish ...

In the beginning......

... dried shrimps, Christmas lights, raw ducks.......In the end I stopped and had some lunch from a stall as I needed the energy to carry on fighting my way out of the place. Eventually some kid on a sweet stall who had probably seen me walk past about seven times told me to go through the shoes (about half a kilometre of them) and hang a left and bingo - I have never been so happy to see a Metro station in my life.

On Saturday I decided to stay away from the smoggy city centre ...

In San Miguel de Allende

... lots for three more to be developed. All of the homes were new construction. As I walked back toward the Centro I found other construction sites and a lot of trucks delivering supplies. I got back to the Jardin and decided to head back on Reloj to our casa. I saw Sheila at the corner near the Biblioteca and she was on her way to her appointment. I told her that I needed to get my passport to get my library card and would see her when she got back. I went to the library and found I ...

Anthropological Study

Today was all about anthropology. The online dictionary defines it as "The scientific study of the origin, the behavior, and the physical, social, and cultural development of humans." The day started with the anthropological study of Chinese dance. We journeyed to the Zocalo (the main plaza) to watch these amazing Chinese dancers expose us to a bit of their culture. It was seriously SO amazing! I almost cried. Their dancing was just so beautiful, the music so ...

Spending time in Colonia San Antonio

... treats. Even in the rain last week the several stools, under a tarp, were full of customers. A favorite is the weekday car wash, basically an empty space in the courtyard where the hand wash mostly taxis. But on the weekend they scrub the cement, set up patio chairs and long tables and put out a long buffet line of homemade stuff. It's been packed every evening. The sidewalks and roads.......Do not come to San Miguel de Allende if ...

... by a rope tied across the path at waist height. The ever rising sun had not yet broken through the dark shadows of the coniferous canopy. What our eyes could discern in the minimal light, however, was a sight to behold. A grouping of trees, dozens deep by dozens wide had hundreds, maybe thousands of sleeping butterflies on the end of each and every branch. Not even comparable in number, but vastly numerous none-the-less, were the hundreds of yellow ...
