Well we got here and it was a bit of a disappointment compared to Nice. Much more commercial but the main shopping street wasn't that impressive. The beach was much better but really packed and sooo many boats docked in the bay!

Then we went down to the beach and had an amazing lunch at the Beach Club bar. I had a martini in a really cool glass and Joe had a Jack Daniels! So relaxing.

... wine,a Pommerol, and the dessert a slice of merangue in a raspberry coulis.................. Yes -- an absollutely fantabulous dinner with the dearest of friends. What a perfect way to end my visit on land in Cannes. The drive back from Antibes, the wind/sea were very bloistery -- I am so glad we are not at anhor, or have to go anywhere tonight. No Grand marniers, it is well after midnight... so we all hugged goodnight, and went to bed. Bon ...

Travelling on motorways doesn't show you much of a country, but we knew we had just over 600km to cover and needed to take the fastest route. We drove directly south, hitting the Mediterranean coast just west of Genoa. The scenery should have been amazing but the road ducked in and out of tunnels and was bordered by high walls. ...

... meet. He would have the biggest smile on his face when we came in and out of the hotel and delivered toilet paper to our door personally and gave us an upgraded room. Our trip back to Paris was really nice to sit out the window and watch the country side go by. We manage a first class ticket which was not much different from second class but still a bonus!  The last night in Paris was spent just in front of the Eiffel tower watching it sparkle on last time. ... of the shops has drywall or plaster walls but they used the original stone walls of the village. The proprietor of the wine store, "La Petite Cave", was a sommelier and he recommended a local wine to us so I bought a bottle for the teachers to sip on at the hotel. As a special surprise for the students, we decided to add a stop at a chocolate factory in Nice so we had to cut our visit to St. Paul de Vence short. The "Florian" chocolate and candy stop was a quite amazing ...
