    Day Eighteen - Cannes

... we will be in Switzerland and guess who's playing. We'll see if our good luck rubs off on the Swiss. After dinner, we walked around the Massena Plaza and they had their Jazz Festival going on. It was interrupted by hundreds of insane French people on scooters and bikes and on foot, just being obnoxious. It was much like the end of a football or baseball game at home. We'll pack tonight for Switzerland and see how that ...

... ship quite early because we were getting tired and hot. There were signs of film stars in Cannes as they have a small walk of fame with handprints in concrete but nowhere near as big as Hollywood. The hotels are amazing and very big and lavish. We looked at the price of coffee and decided that we couldn't afford one. All the prices seemed to be around the 20 euro mark. We stuck to our ...

We both commented that we would probably "do a Donna" and wait for 5 minutes on the beach to let all the other crazy swimmers go before entering the water to start the swim. Why not? The swim was 3.8km and consisted of 2 laps. A first lap of 2.4km and a second lap of 1.4km after the swimmers ...

... br> As much as I complained about the outward journey, the return was without
fault, my ipod was charged (had it not been there were plug sockets) so i could
sit back on a proper TGV train, appreciate the lovely southern French coast and
listen to some music, my connection to Marseille was another comfortable train
and I arrive in Montpellier 4 hours later. Despite the long journey it was a
lovely weekend. I may as well make the most of being here after all!!!

... prefer to arrive in a helicopter or a ocean liner super yatch perhaps. When we exited the train station the pigeons that were scattered about the stairs that lead to the main streets paid us no mind. They were wearing ascots and were looking for caviar rather than the measly bread crumbs we may have tossed them. Monaco and Monte Carlo are what would happen if Louie Vitton, Gucci,Disney and Donald Trump decided to build a city. The most ...
