... tick another box on my Paris list. Upstairs, I also can't resist a delightful children's book for my nephew, a tale of pride and petulance told with moustaches and scarves, both of which I am wearing while I buy it. Outside it's starting to get dark, and we head over to the cathedral to find that access to the towers has closed for the day. It seems that the last item on my list — climbing the towers of Notre Dame — will have to wait for another visit. I'm OK with that: we ...

They do not stop even if you have a green light and are halfway across and we are not used to looking to the right on the other side. We couldn't quite work out why you would have a car that can do 260km an hour ...

... bike riding. I decided to tour Paris on the open top buses with all the other summer tourists. It was quite hectic and as everyone was jostling for the prime position on the top deck, I settled peacefully downstairs where I could watch the bus driver using his mobile phone constantly. The commentary in English was quite good when it actually synced with the correct location, but there did seem to be a lot of french music filling in the gaps. I managed to complete ...

... girl. She bought a tam today which looks adorable on her. A bit too hot to wear it today though. We ate out last night and finally found something that the fussy girl loved. Pasta with tomato sauce. Janessa pasta with pesto sauce. Bill, lasagna and me moulles and frites. I guess there is only one french eater but she does not speak the language well. She used aujourd'hui instead of au revoir when leaving a store. We really like this town even better ...
