Fabulous stay here - great for rail travellers as right opposite the station. Room & bathrom spotless, very comfy fittings, amazing view over the lake. Nice breakfast with that great view, & excellent dinner in Le 45 restaurant.

Stayed for 3 nights in a superior lake view room...had a fabulous view of the lake and mountains, a lovely terrace in a clean and spacious room. Great location for the station, the ferry and all the waterfront/towncentre restaurants.....highly recommended.
Would also recommend the Palais Orientales restaurant and the 'Chocolate Train' that goes to Gruyere (cheese factory) and Bloc (chocolate factory)...and don't miss Chateau Chillon, stunning!
Don't forget to take plenty of money....switzerland is pretty pricey...!
This hotel is very conveniently located across the train station. We stayed in lake view room with 2 toddlers. The room was very spacious with extra sofa bed. The view from the balcony was just fantastic. We had reserved mountain view room for a family but to our surprise, we were given this large size lake view room with balcony. The room and bath room were very clean. Initially we were told that breakfast is not included in our booking but I had a printout of booking from Travelocity with clear mention of breakfast. They showed me a booking confirmation they had sent to a company used by travelocity with no mention of breakfast. I asked them to call travelocity because travelocity has a guarantee of satisfaction. I don't know if they actually called or not but we were allowed to have breakfast without extra charge. The breakfast was amazing. I would not have paid CHF 19/person for it but it was worth it. The staff was really friendly and helpful. I would strongly recommend this hotel.
Outstanding - highly recommended!
This hotel was a great find - picked it based on TripAdvisor and it lived up to expectations.
We booked a last minute rate for approximately $200 US with a lakefront view. Upon arrival, we got an exceptionally large room with lakeview on one of the lower floors, but no balcony. I have never seen such a large room in a European hotel. However, we asked the front desk if we could get a balcony, and we were moved to a higher floor with a balcony at no additional charge and a more conventionally sized room. The room was still quite large by European standards with very high ceilings and an excellent bathroom. Top rate fixtures, huge marble shelf for toiletries, etc...
The view and balcony were spectacular. The location was prime, right in the middle of town directly across from the train station. Breakfast on the balcony with items we picked up around town in the morning was really nice. Staff was outstanding to deal with. Great value given Switzerland's high costs and weak US$.
I can't comment on the rooms facing the train station other than to say that they still looked great inside, but the trains through Montreux make a lot of noise... could be harsh.
Comfortable beautiful stay
This hotel has a great location, directly opposite the train station but very quiet for rooms facing the riveria.
This is a really lovely hotel, we paid the price for it though at 340 francs for a triple share (even though it was off peak).
The view was fantastic and we had a large terrace on which we could have sat and enjoyed the sun and view - it was a bit too cold for that when we went in Feb 2005.
This included a continental breakfast - though make sure you get up in time for it because they really do put away everything at 10 am on the dot. The restaurant at night was very quiet but the food was quite good fare.
Luxurious hotel ... highly recommend it if you would like to splurge,
Great location, good value
Literally right across the street from the train station, so if you are tired of hauling your luggage this is the place. Reasonably priced and gave me a balcony w great view of the Lake. Five minute walk to Freddy Mercury statue and lots of good restaurant choices.
Note breakfast wasn't included like I thought from how the desk mentioned it- about $25 for continental. Most expensive croissant I ever had.
We stayed here with our three children in December, 2004. You have to make sure you have a room overlooking the lake - walking out on our balconies was an amazing experience - the view of snow-capped mountains rising from the lake is straight out of a postcard. We were here for five nights, and it never failed to entrall me!
The rooms were a good size, with the usual European bathrooms.
The restaurant looked unassuming, but the food was really good - they were also nice with the children - little chocolates were given out one night after my daughter had lavished praise on Swiss chocolates; children's meals available too.
Shops are at the door, while the train station is at the back - great location.
Fantastic Terrace View
We stayed here for 5 nights in July, 2004 and found it to be a nice hotel. Our room had a view of lake geneve which was breathtaking. We were at the front of the hotel - the back gets no view other than the street. We used their elevated terrace for food and drinks most nights and the service was ok but nothing compared to the view of the lake and the French Alps on its far shore. It was simply breathtaking and one i'll remember for the rest of my days. It was worth the money for the views. A good value 3* hotel, but note that parking is on-street, although a few good car parks nearby.
Luxury on the Lake
We were dubious about booking the Hotel Suisse Majestic. I don't think their website does the hotel justice. While the 'Belle Epoque' style is charming the renovations have subtlety updated the hotel to a comfortable modern standard. The service was fabulous, the rooms on the lakeside have fantastic views over LacLeMan and the food and drink are wonderful (which is reflected in the price). We had a Junior Suite which was extremely spacious, with a wonderful modern white bathroom with bath and shower. The single room lakeside was ample for one person and had the same facilities on a smaller scale including the wonderful balcony with view of the lake and the bath with shower. The prices are not cheap however for a stay in Montreux especially for the festivals the location can't be beat. I would definately recommend the hotel for a luxury stay in Montreux.

We actually treated ourselves to a taxi this morning as it was a fairly early train and an uphill albeit gentle walk which would have taken about 25 minutes. Our train was a Swiss one that had come up from Milan and you noticed the difference as soon as you hopped on. Very modern, clean, signs everywhere and screens showing stops and other …

We reached his place. It was a small but very beautiful flat. We got freshened up and started relaxing. Brian prepared dinner for us and before dinner we made him cut the cake and started having food. After food we listened to the music for a while and decided to sleep ...
... couldn't tell already, a lot of our travels revolve around food! :) ). We received a riviera card from our hotel which allowed us to take the buses for free and gave us half off entry to the chateau. We decided to take the bus since it was still drizzling a little. The chateau sits on Lake Geneva (it's actually its own island) with the alps is the background and is beautiful! The history was incredibly interesting and we were happy we decided to get the audio tour. The castle was ...
... In montreax we were on a mission to find the Freddie mercury statue and the queen studio experience. The fact that we had to navigate through a Christmas market was a bonus. Mulled wine and several churros layer we finally found the statue (we asked directions at a food stall and received a funny look followed by a walk that way. The statue was on the tiger side of the stall, we had only needed to take 10 more steps to find it). After some posing we ...
