      ... soon enough.

We head back to Bangkok on our final morning – a taxi ride to the bus station, followed by a half-decent public bus to the eastern bus station (a much better journey of around an hour and a half!) Our hotel isn’t easily accessible by public transport so we manage to find a cab where the driver agrees to use the meter (easier said than done in Bangkok!) and the journey through the afternoon traffic is painfully slow ...

I feel proud knowing that I took the time to learn thai phrases to communicate, and I know that it is much appreciated. 3. Scenery. Everywhere is beautiful. Well, maybe not Bangkok, it's just dirty. But every new city we travel to is gorgeous. Whether its the lush mountains, or clear blue water, or bridges that cross streams. Now it's our Friday afternoon off and I am ready for a nap but have just been told I need to do donation boxes - there goes my plan to ...

... to one of the islands for a day out, but Predictably the 10. Baht tuktuk got hijacked by a paying customer and we ended up Walking an hour through the city to get to the pier. By the time we'd walked 'walking street' ( a road full of clubs and bars where anything goes) it wasn't worth the trip over. So we went to see The big Buddha high on the hill with great views of the area. Every night ...

... Hotel and back to travelling in reality. First it was to Bangkok airport to say farewell to Stacey, for the time being. It was emotional for Lisa to see her sister leave as she loved having her around. The three of us arrived at The Great Residence Hotel near the airport at an hour and a half bus journey. This is where Jon and Lisa were to stay after waving Stacey off at the airport at 9pm for her flight home. All that was left to do was for Stacey ...
