Awoke late with the fat German next door in the camper talking about something. Given it was half way through the morning the caffeine fix was calling. Happy to say the coffee at the camp site restaurant was excellent, as was the cake. After brekky and feeling lethargic I unpacked all my gear seeking some unnecessary stuff to send back, unfortunately one spanner a pair of undies and a T shirt was all I could find and hardly ...

Reflecting on the departure from Plymouth I found it hard to believe that well after the scheduled departure time more bikes, cars and campers were still boarding the Ferry. ... enough is enough and ride to the nearest campsite and set up the tents.

The campsite is on the cliffs between two sandy coves. It is a bit like the north Cornish coast, rocky and wild. This coast does not appear very touristic. Llanes is a working town, no glitz or glitter, no postcards or silly hats. There are a number of campervans and tents on site but nobody looks like they are on holiday.

... us on our preferred arrival date, but Laura booked us in to arrive last Tuesday. After a nerve wracking 25-mile drive inland from the Autovia along twisting roads up the gorge, we reached busy Potes and, a mile further on, our destination where the lovely Laura checked us in and personally showed us a choice of pitches. The site is terraced and through the trees, tents and caravans we can see the majestic mountains - worth the drive here! Top of our 'must see' list ...
