      ... ever been truly broke. Similarly, if you have ever suffered through a period of extreme hardship of any kind, you are more able to enjoy and appreciate life post hardship. In my experience in schools, parents worked overtime to shelter their kids from hardships of any kind, up to and including failing a test.       We found the beach! Finally, after driving for days, we reached St. Augustine and our hotel on St. Augustine beach. Actually, we stayed on Anastasia Island, a barrier island just off the coast of St Augustine, the oldest town in the US.
