I had my usual slow start to the day and managed to crawl out of bed at about 11. I walked around the town for a while, doing some window shopping and having a look at my surroundings. The day was passing without too much going on so I decided to head for the motel. Once I made it there, I did my usual bit of business and got all the details that I needed. The nice girl behind the counter handed me some paperwork and I was careful to keep ...
Madison, Georgia, United States holliday... campground as well if you want to bring your horse!

Many well marked and maintained trails for hiking and horseback riding. Easy paved roads through out to get you over to the beach at the swimming lake or the ramp at the boating lake or the group use building with large rolling lawn down to the water for fishing and kayaking/canoeing. There are playgrounds and a terrific group BBQ area with facilities for preparation ...
Rutledge, Georgia, United States jodieandandyI wanted to spend more time in Athens, but because of all the problems going on, plans kind of got extremely disorganized and we went to Athens on a whim.

We basically ended up in a bar and grabbed dinner at The Grit (famous for vegetarian cuisine), while briefly cruising around town.

I felt sad and sentimental that I didn't get to tour it more, but then again I felt relief; I have another university to call my own, for I am also a NYU graduate. ;)
Athens, Georgia, United States erinkovalHey y'all,

I tried to email everyone the pictures of my condo but AOL doesn't have enough storage space for the amount of pictures I took, so here they are!

In other news, I've applied to a few jobs and realized (again) that looking for a ...
Athens, Georgia, United States ashleyfrances... the whole way back. We even coordinated our stops very well. We were back in Atlanta at 5 pm - but luckily not too much traffic. We stopped at the new Barrow Publix for some dinner and milk. The kids got to play with the neighbors while we unloaded the car.

Whew!
Bogart, Georgia, United States jspringe... How do they keep their arteries open around here? There were churches every mile (or more). We saw Carolina rice paddies - I never associated rice growing with southern US before.

We stopped at a State Park for lunch and had a picnic next to a lovely lake - there were few others there at first, but they all left and we had the park to ourselves. The temperature was in the high 20s and humid. We carried on down towards Charleston, seeing Azaleas and lots of ...
Athens, Georgia, United States mumnjulieWe headed up through Georgia with one night at Unadilla, then on to one of the nicest parks we have found yet. The park is called the North Shore Resort near Greensboro, GA and is located on Lake Oconee at the site of the old Carey Station Rail Depot. They've utilized various types of train cars for offices, the general store, the clubhouse, some of the comfort stations and even some of the room accommodations that people can rent and lots of amenities. It ...
Greensboro, Georgia, United States chictravelers2Alright, I am leaving tommorow for the wild blue yonder. Miami for three days and then down to the dominican for uh...two years. Yeah, I really am going. I know some of you never thought this long awaited, dragged out day would ever arrive, oh but it has. I will write tommorow or the next day in Miami to let everyone know how that ...
Athens, Georgia, United States crockett... world happenings I just happened to run into an interesting little peace demonstration just as I parked my car on Broad Street. Actually, this was the first peace demonstration I had ever seen in person. A line of people holding candles, peace signs and other anti-war offerings moved down College Avenue and onto Broad St. Seeing this demonsration of liberal values so openly displayed suddenly shifted my preconceived notion of Athens as the ...
Athens, Georgia, United States freedomdave... to be a national pastime - window shopping and getting the best of the other window shoppers! We had so many great meals in Athens and surrounding areas. It was really a pleasure to be 'presented' past the food on the way to our table as a way of showing us that the food was all very fresh.
