Headed off from Nasville this morning after piking out last night. We went to grab some dinner at an Applebee's Bar & Grill before heading to a bar with live music near the motel, After a steak and shrimp with mashed potatos and a couple of Mango flavoured cocktails, I was all done in and could barely waddle my way back to the motel. Only drinking water and eating fruit for the rest of the trip. I ...
Bardstown, Kentucky, United States mattcollCouldn't sleep so off we went at 3:45AM- heading South. Set our New talking Garmin GPS system for Taylorsville State Park near Taylorsville, KY. The GPS chatters away telling you how far, where to turn and if you make a mistake her favorite word is "recalculating". I say 'she' because the Garmin uses a soothing female voice. I suppose Garmin does that so when their information is incorrect it helps keep one calm.
We nicknamed the GPS ...
Hi All - getting ready for my big trip tomorrow (which is totally going to suck). Anyway, here's a brief overview of my itinerary.
Saturday afternoon - leave Louisville, long layover in Philly - arrive in Lisbon at 9 am local time. Lisbon is 5 hours ahead of Louisville.
Sunday - try and stay awake before I can check into my hotel by ...
A short walk from the hotel lead us to the Louisville Convention Center and my first Kentucky Starbucks. I made it a mocha since it doubled as my breakfast. I asked the barista if they carried city mugs and he replied with a slight southern tang, "Nope. Small market."
Right.
... built the hotel that stands today in 1972 and named it after Dr. Galt.
After a quick coffee stop this morning, we walked around the downtown and happened upon the Art Car Weekend, an awesome display of crazy painted cars with things glued on them that lasted a good four blocks. Among my personal favorites were the dental car, the Wizard of Oz car, and the penny ...
... as that's all i plan on taking aside from my laptop/electronic backpack...Chad in general is anxious and nervous...kind of endearing...he's never been out of the country (not even Mexico and Canada, which in my book don't count anyway)...watching his eyes open to the world...the varying languages, cultures, real European food and the history or art is what I think will be most entertaining this time around....though ...
Louisville, Kentucky, United States whoisjohngalt... Indiana and Illinois. We had a great day of driving with no major delays anywhere along our route. We managed to get in 13 hours of driving which put us in Clarksville, IN just across the Ohio River from Louisville. There are no photos with this entry because there really was no place to easily stop and take pictures particularly with the rain. I hope, however, that the description is enough to have you create your own pictures in your mind.
Oh the wonders of nature and nature-stream restoration projects I volunteer on. Bernheim offers an abundance of programs for schools and families that educate and allow you to help conserve some nature!
Also, this park has many, many hiking trails. Yay hiking! We all know how much I love that. :)
... from the players that they would request no more bats. As word of mouth spread about the quality bats, other teams began sending in orders. There is one other story about the origins of the first Louisville Slugger. In a 1937 interview for Baseball Magazine , 77-year-old Arlie Latham claimed that the first bat was made for him. Latham, a third baseman for the St. Louis Browns of the American Association ...
Louisville, Kentucky, United States valcro101... you would call yelling in a whisper. Yelling in a whisper in deafening silence. "Did you just here that?" his voice called back. "Probably frogs," I said. I was aware of only two incredibly conflicting things at that moment. The fist was the warm, soft feeling of J's nakedness against me underneath those ratty old sleeping bags, and how that was a feeling that I never, ever wanted to end and would be happy to take with me as my final experience on earth. The other was a creeping ...
