... But did you know NASCAR's cannot be run on a wet track surface. So after waiting patiently for the majority of the day, watching the rain get heavier and then lighter, we were a but guttered to hear that racing has be postponed until Sunday.
We unfortunately had a plane to catch to Dallas, Texas, no NASCAR racing for us :(

... burnt sugar maple tree charcoal to filter the whiskey, there is also a special cave and stream where they collect the water for use in the whiskey and they let the whiskey sit for 4-7 years before it gets bottled and sold. The smell in the air around Lynchburg was beautiful! (I personally don't like whiskey but boy that smell was delicious)

After a drive of a few hours, we arrived at our motel in the small town of...Hurricane! Thankfully we didn't encounter any severe weather, and I thought of those who must have been affected by the flooding from Hurricane Joaquin. (There is also a place called Tornado somewhere in W. Virginia!)

Its time for another great adventure and I am all packed and ready to go. I was so glad that I kept a blog of my last trip and had great feedback from those who read it, that I decided to make another one for this trip. My friend (Marie) and I are headed to 3 great countries: France, Italy, and Spain and are excited for it all to start! Flights leave tonight.....tomorrow = ...
... the track to see the All Star Race with driver introductions and a special tribute to Jeff Gordon (This is his last all Star Race-retiring) His wife, children and Ray Evernham were there with him. This race has 4 - 25 lap segments and then a 10 lap shootout. Denny Hamlin won the race winning a million dollars! I'm sorry to say this was one of the least exciting All Star Races I have ever watched. :(
