Ok, so we've been to backpacker central, time for some luxury!! I've checked out cool places to go for a drink and the Sky Bar looks the place to go - it was featured in the Hangover 2 (although I haven't seen the movie) and the views look pretty special.
Before we go there, we head over to Asiatique, it's a good way of seeing the river again as there is a free shuttle boat which goes across from the pier (just next to the Shangri-la, my favourite hotels!!). It's a development ...
... drinks menu, by this point there's no way out. We can't sit down and look through the menu then get up and walk out. The prices are high but it's Bangkok and the expensive side. We stick it out and have the cheapest thing. We lost out, not only did we spend more money but we didn't even get cider! To add to it, it was raining when we got out and got the train back ha. ... stroking tigers (which had obviously been drugged or were extremely sleepy), went on the bridge over the river Kwai (which we didnt realise was still active and a train came across while we were walking along it). Those were the highlights but we also did a trek to see a series of waterfalls, went to a couple of war museums, rode a train through the scenic jungle and went rafting and swimming in the river Kwai. We met loads of people here and have been meeting up with them ...
... with chinese tea and freezing towels! Which were very welcome after the heat outside!
After a couple of hours sleep we ventured out to explore the surrounding areas of Chinatown. We wandered aimlessly through the old and new market a little overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of bangkok life but enjoying it nonetheless. Grinning to myself the whole time I washed, I heard Stuart employing every Thai phrase he could think of as he tried to keep the other fellow's mind off of our bodies. After Stu showered (both of us having staved off the soon to be unrequited lover) the other fellow hopped in, and we had a short but decisive conference on how to rid ourselves of the third party.
