    ... the shops, the white sparkly lights in every window. The God Jule signs as we walk along. Yes this feels like Christmas for sure. Understated elegance and restrained decorating. There are no gaudy lights and fake foliage here. The sparkle from the office buildings and every home have much more impact than a Griswald family Christmas all bright colours and excessive cheap decor....I am not sure I can look at our fake tree quite the same way ever ...

    Today we awoke to a sunny 30 degree morning. As our hotel was some distance from the main centre we had a choice of travel options - bike, foot, bus, taxi, train, tram, ferry, boat. We chose to walk and ferry. We also made use of the "Hop On Hop Off" Tour Bus to see the sights.

    ... our sheets. I declined the offer of having the rest of our clothes done (!) but was pleased that at least our sheets would be clean.

    So, dirty sheets delivered , to be picked up at 19:00, we settled down for the evening.
