I really know very little of the practice specifics so what I am relating as to what I understand, might be totally inaccurate… I just don’t know for certain and often just not catching a word or two can lead to me believing the total opposite of what is really true…. just part of the fun of having poor hearing and poor communication skills in a foreign country.

... waarin geen schoorsteen of gat zit. Dus vrij rokering, maar dat is juist de bedoeling, want dat jaagt de vliegen weg.

De locale mensen leven van het land en van de toeristen. Overal zien we landbouwterrassen waarop graan en aardappelen worden geteeld. Rijst groeit hier niet, dus dat moet worden geruild/gekocht met de oogst. Voor de kinderen onderweg hebben we ballonnen meegenomen. Dat is telkens een groot succes.

We pass a small temple to Shiva where traditionally no meat or eggs should pass but I tuck into an omelette for lunch at Himalaya Hotel (2900m).
It's a gruelling climb to Deurali past dangerous avalanche chutes. There is a deep, crunching sound above the valley. Ice melted by days of sun crashes down through a waterfall. And again. It's well ...
