... We spent everyday walking the streets to get a good feel for the place and were rewarded with little surprises along the way; a boulangerie here, a cheap coffee there. Sunday 14 It was a long train trip to Bayonne - the regional train from Toulouse to Bayonne was a very slow one and wound ion and out of the mountain range (the Pyrenees). The regional train was one of those where you are in a 6 berth cabin set up. I jumped on and settled myself into the first cabin on the carriage.
