... massive and impressive. When we arrived we were told that we were playing on their American football field. While this was exciting, we faced the problem of playing on an artificial surface for the first time, and coping with line markings for three different sports, none of which were rugby. While a soft surface, 'grass' burn was an issue. On a side note as the day got warmer you could really smell the rubber in the surface heating up.

Then we went to Mt Soledad which was another top rated site to visit while in the La Jolla area. Unfortunately because it was still late morning the cloud was still handing around so we could not see much. It was a bit eery with the clouds floating past us and the monument at the top of the mount but it was a beautiful monument dedicated to the fallen troops from the US.

Caught our pre-arranged transport to our Santa Monica Hotel, The Ambrose, a cute boutique hotel which would top all previous hotels we stayed in.
