    ... Heading back to Rio for a few days then to Ilha Grande for two nights and Paraty for two nights. Then I'll come back to Araraquara for a night to get my stuff and head to Sao Paulo for the last time...

    P.S. In Rio now, took a taxi to the hostel and saw so much more of the city than on the stupid metro! Going to meet some other IAESTE students who are in town.

    Not really done anything too exciting this week, other than playing some futsal against other republicas.
    The teacher and support staff strike that has been going on at UNESP is going to end and classes will start again next week. It's great because everyone is coming back to Araraquara and Canil will probably be full!

    ... malls. The centre reminded me more of a typical Brazilian city; busy, with lots of shops selling suspect goods (i got a Hollister t-shirt for 10 reals {about £3-£4}).
    The center has some nice parks with small craft markets and pretty grand cathedral. There is also a theatre, which apparently one of the best outside Sao Paulo city. Next to this there is a restaurant/bar place called Pinguim (Portuguese for penguin), famous for its chopp (a light beer) and some of ...
