Absolutely fine, off season prices are reasonable and there is really, really hot water in the mornings so you can warm up, and plenty of blankets are provided at night because it gets COLD in Kodai during the off season! That's all you need, really.

It's high up here, about 2100 m.a.s.l. so it gets pretty chilly at night which is basically a politer way of saying "**** my life, you could fashion diamonds with my nipples right now!" I feel ready to go home now, ready to tap my creative juices and help bring something special into being.

But not quite yet. It’s Sunday and it will take us another four days to extricate ourselves from this country. Needless to say, there is no internet coverage ...

Strolling around the village centre one day, looking for a decent place to eat, we met a retired Indian couple from the UK. They had moved back to India to enjoy their retirement and set up a charity. ...

... bus breaking down a couple of times on route! Shane got no sleep! We arrived at Palani (a huge bus station) at three in the morning and had to wait until 5am for our connecting bus. The pay to use toilets were vile (just like several other pay to use toilets on our trip) and yet several girls were trying to bathe from a stand in pool of stagnant water. About a hundred homeless people used the station floor as their bed, many of them ...
