    ... a gradient of 25%. Both these hills were very narrow with just enough room for two cars. We continued on and eventually found our hotel,after wending our way round Ilfracombe.     ... exit into the sea. This is a bay only accessible by walking. The remains of an old lime kiln are still there above the beach. Retracing our steps back to a branch in the track, we headed uphill on a steep path onto the Coastal Path.     ... amp; out & about that I have felt truly warm.
    We set off tonight to see & hear The Dowlais Male Choir, only to find there was no practice tonight as they had sung at the Mayor's (a former choir member) inauguration. However they were getting a group photo taken, so we at least saw them & had a chat with a few of them. Maybe one day we will get to hear them sing, but unfortunately not on this trip. ...

    ... the 8.57 train to Exeter from Paddington, so , after breakfast with Debbie , I ordered a taxi to get to Paddington as I could not face the struggle with the heavy case using the antique station with no lifts or escalators-- they are building a brand-new station as part of Crossrail.
