... worthwhile (and hopefully worth the money, i'll see when I work out how much I've spent). I obviously won't be uploading the 4000 photo's I took but anyone is welcome to see them, they need only ask; and set aside around 5 hrs to go through them. This is Mike's log.......signing out.
Kingussie, Scotland, United Kingdom mikedzA surprise - wasn't expecting to see this type of detail in a non-fancy church. Looks like a farmhouse on the outside, but on the inside a very detailed painted ceiling.
I would guess that not too many people actually make it out to this site.
... which actually wasn't a well but in fact a tall monument to the incident. Lynda told us any years later they actually found the skeletons of the decapitated bodies... nice!
Traveling up through the ginormous mountains we stopped briefly up at Glengarry Point where we looked down into a large valley of lochs – it had been raining all morning so there were many waterfalls cascading down the mountains, wow breathtaking!
After a fantastic 13hour sleep we got up and ready for a full on day of adventure. First up was the local township – Dunkeld. We visited Dunkeld Cathedral which half is used for church services and the back half were in ruins and inside held headstones. Beautiful architecture throughout and we were able to walk through the church to a mini museum which went into more history on the ...

Seeing a Highland Games was AWESOME! I especially loved the Tug-O-War. The competitors are quite serious – the winning teams obviously had lots of practice and experience, their synchronization in footwork was pretty impressive. Each T.O.W.
team represents a certain town or area and their friendly rivalry was fun to watch. Just have to wonder, how much time do they put in practicing for these events? All those ...

The main street, other than for the pubs and some businesses catering for the tourist trade were simply closed for lunch, talk about wok-life balance. I spent a few minutes here chatting with a lovely old gentleman about his garden ...
Pitlochry, Scotland, United Kingdom just_two_of_us... there because the original was taken by Queen Elizabeth the First to Westminster about 700 years ago.
For morning tea of course I had a scone. I also beat Danny into the centre of the maze - my thrill for the day.
Next we met up with Dorothy's daughter Amanda at the Crieff Visitors Centre where there is a glass-blowing workshop. The heat those blokes (and sheilas) have to work in is incredible. They get globs of molten glass on the end of lo-o-o-ong poles and ...
... of those lovely little villages with a winding main street lined with grey stone buildings and, at this time of year, flowers in window boxes. The village's “High Street” (English for “Main shopping/business street”) winds down a gentle slope and you can see glimpses of gentle hills patchworked with fields and hedges between the buildings. In some directions the hills are bigger and balder – the foothills of the ...
Auchterarder, Scotland, United Kingdom dljHello everyone and sorry for the long delay! You may as well get used to it now because it will take me quite a while to get all my blogs written about my European adventures!
