... the bars.
The Aussies all tried a "Mexican Bulldog" a lime margarita with a light corona beer bottle inserted upside down, as a non beer drinker - it wasn't too bad. Followed by a couple of margaritas and tequila shots :) and the gorilla chasing the banana, some fantastic outfits worn by the patrons. Great food and lots of fun.

Spent the morning with my brother, having breakfast at Ricki's, talking, and getting a little drive around Okotoks. It's really a lovely city, and the view of the mountains is breathtaking. Also managed to grab an unplanned geocache where we got the picture of the mountains. Got on the road around Noon and decided to surprise my mother-in-law with a short visit. ... at least it felt like it for me, since everything I heard about the dinosaurs was brand new!) I had just finished reading about the massive crater in the Yucatán Peninsula that many had theorized was created by an asteroid that may have killed off the dinosaurs. (I was an early and voracious reader; my dad says I was reading his paleontology textbooks by that age; I proudly remember being the only kid in my Kindergarten class who could pronounce Archeopteryx as a result.) ...

... in the entire province get shipped here, and there are some doozies.

Albertosauri (tyranids ... no, Mike, not the 40k ones, just related to the T Rex et alii), Raptors, Ankylosauri, Duck Billed, Ceratopsians and much more, all well displayed, and with excellent recreations of them in skeletal and 'real life' form.

Apart from that, the drive was boring ...

... with reducing the number of sets of clothes I have to take. I am going to try to go for 3 weeks on the following:

Underwear: 2 pairs Icebreaker, 1 pair MEC merino
Socks: 2 pairs light merino wool, 3 pairs smartwool hiking socks
Shoes: 1 pair light hikers, 1 pair running shoes, 1 pair sandal shoes(canvas covered)
Pants: 1 Pair fast dry MEC pants, 1 Pair fast dry convertible ...
