Here was another major metropolis that I struggled to get through, taking a few wrong turns here and there but weaves my way out of it and into Sepulpa which was a great relief, I think I may need to acquire a GPS or Tom Tom for the next time I plan on doing anything like this hahahaha. Oklahoma
... lot of traffic. We had lunch at the Pancake Hut in Carthage and ate the state dish, chicken fried steaks. We took a turning for Catoosa, but it turned out to be a red herring so we missed the Blue Whale landmark. We did find our hotel at Broken Arrow, just south of Tulsa without any trouble though. It had a lively bar with cheap beer. Having had a filling lunch, we ate gas station snacks in our room as it was far too late to get a meal ...
Roadfood
... so we held off for Primanti Brothers in Pittsburgh. They serve a sandwich that has a bunch of vinegar slaw and fries on it. An enormous thing on two slices of two thick slices of Italian bread that somehow stays together.
We tried Cincinnati chili outside of Cincinnati. I tried the five way, that is equal parts chili, spaghetti, and shredded cheese, with onions and beans. I didn't think I'd like it. I did. ...
The Journey Begins......
We begin this journey at home in Tulsa, OK. We were very excited to get our travel notice on July 31. We then realized it gave us exactly 4 days to get everything together and out the door. Thank goodness Mom, Dad and Leslie were in town to help us out!
Despite the short time table, we were able to get everything completed, packed up the car, and set off on our journey to take Lucy and Ricky to stay with Nonna ...
