I then looped back to the central area where the few 'sights' are located. Firstly the massive windmill, with the inside now transformed into a cafe-cum-gift shop. There were about 15 tourists just on the pathway crouching down to get angled photos of the blades!

... lost in the back streets. Since our hostel was farther from town we got to see some very beautiful buildings and it was relatively empty of other people which I loved. I could have spent all day wandering around there.
We took a lot of scenic photos, saw a horse fountain and the center where all the nuns live. It was beautiful. We wandered into a couple chocolate shops and this one scarf store owned by the cutest old man. ...

... with Peter and Claire as we are aiming to be off early in the morning, especially as the wind had dropped to a gentle ripple on the water.

Our computers are dead as we are conserving battery power as they need a good run on the engine tomorrow, so cannot really catch up on the blog. We played another game of Rummikub (John won again!) before retiring ready for the early start. We want to go and play again as we have been quite bored ...

In Bruges

... just moved ever so slightly and then the entire bridge deck swings up.

Even more impressive was a bridge right outside of Bruges. There were two curved tracks leading up away from the bridge, and the whole bridge deck just slid up the tracks and out of the way of the oncoming boat. Very cool!
