... in the window (I told you about it in a previous blog). I must talk about the chocolate here. It is superb. I will be a blimp when I return. A day of hops and no beer

... and often run out of beer etc etc. Both we and our new american friends (that we met at the abbey) were quite disappointed. However our failure only contributes to this beer's elusive allure.

Figuring that we would get no beer, we rode along some part of the 'hops path' which is a scenic route amongst hops farms. Then we returned to Ghent where we had our favourite meal for dinner...a pita bread kebab thing.

... Brugge, we also took a canal boat tour, which was great. We tried to take the tour earlier, but the weather wasn't looking so good, so we abandoned the idea. The weather cleared up and we enjoyed a sunny voyage.

After the boat tour, we went to the Basilica of the Holy Blood which claims to have a drop of Jesus' blood which was brought back from Jerusalem during the Crusades. The church was a lot more colourful than we have ...
