... The lake was lovely today. The further out you go the clearer the water it was lovely and warm towards the surface and cool but not cold underneath. It was very easy to swim in no current no waves no salt I reckon given enough time I could swim the whole lake but it would take while I don't think you could rush anything here! At the end of the day we left our mark in Salzburg by having our own ...

... Luckily we still had a couple of mozartballs to snack on. Our apartment is probably the smallest we have had so far but is clean and nicely decorated. After settling in we took the tram and train downtown to look for some lederhosen and a dirndl for Oktoberfest. We soon discovered it was a holiday in Germany and everything was closed but we were still able to window shop and found a store that would meet our needs ...

... morning at a brisk pace to try and beat the weather as it was a gloomy, grey day threatening to rain. And also because Salzburg had lots of things to do. I walked through this boring park called Mirabell Palace and Mirabell Gardens where many scenes from the Sound of Music were taken, including the song Do-Re-Mi. Maybe it was disappointing because there were no flowers. Or because it is Winter. Or because I was doing it wrong?

    I decided ...
