    ... found a different path near the gorge, climbing bridge rails etc etc to get some decent photos.

    Still alive, we traveled back to Salzburg slowly, walked the river by night and checked out the cathedral all while consuming pumpkin soup, chocolate, apple strudel and coffee.

    Yes... we finally made it to the highlight of the trip for Eamon...... The Sound of Music tour :)We spent this afternoon touring round Salzburg in a mini-bus with 6 Americans and David our tour leader, visiting key buildings and film spots from the film, whilst in between times singing along with the sound track.....E loved it as you can imagine :) Seriously though... I really valued the culture shock that southern Europe offered but after so many weeks of traveling, it is nice to have things that remind me of the amenities we miss from back home.     ... culminated in the entire tour bus singing "Edelweiss" then sadly (though predictably) "The time has come for me to say goodnight!"

    Back in Salzburg, we visited the Mirrabell Gardens where they filmed quite a bit of Do Re Mi, then went into the old town to get some Italian for dinner as we're all schnitzeled out.
    Wandered around the old town a little more then took Mum back to the hotel as she's still not feeling 100%.

    ... but haven't really felt a need to use it yet. We arrived to a drizzly wet afternoon in Salzburg and after a quick stroll around our hotel area headed to the laundromat for some much needed clean clothing. I think after free breakfasts and wifi a laundromat across the street is probably one of the best things a hotel has going for it.
