The choice of spending a month in Cape Town also worked well. It gave us the time to plan our visits and tours with sufficient "spare" time to file our pictures, write our blogs and re-visit places that we liked. It allowed us to enjoy the autumn sunshine and avoid the occasional downpour.

... led the way on the most independent natured of the five horses. We couldn't do the usual route into the wildlife viewing area, because the lions we'd seen last night were still close to the gate. Apparently, they don't often come right up to this end of the park. We trotted sedately around the outside of the perimeter elephant fence, and then cut through some bush on the return. ... where we stayed with Hendrick and Zelna at Gesserts Guesthouse. This was another little oasis on the outskirts of the town. They have a beautiful garden with lush greenery, exotic plants and flowers - all very serene and peaceful. They even had a talking & singing African Grey parrot.
