      First snow

A travel blog entry by kazlang on Dec 10, 2014

As we travel across Sweden on our train, it has started to snow. It is coming down sideways and is heavy at some points. We are cosy inside. I think we are the only ones excited by the glimpse of the snow out the windows... Half way to Malmo the snow is thicker and making the forests of Christmas trees look just perfect. It is exciting to see the first snow in our European holiday. The little villages along the way look cold and isolated though and I am unsure how they ...

We had breakfast at the hotel and then walked to the match museum in Jonkoping. The match industry was the major industry in town for many years. It was an international company with plants all over the world. Now it is a museum. The city of Jonkoping is very pleasant and has many well preserved buildings. It is situated on the southern tip of the lake and has sandy beaches and ...

Jonkoping is located on a very large lake with an island in the middle.,When we arrived at the hotel my relative Erik and his wife met us in the lobby. We went ...

... I assume from a local club, would play matches against each other. It was quite nice to see how enthusiastic they were, also they did the same during the rugby matches I saw in Canberra.

In the end Jönköping's team didn't win, but I still had a lot of fun. It didn't even matter that half the time I didn't even understand what it was that was going on or that I didn't know any of the rules. It was a lovely experience.

      Love,

      Daniëlle

      ... words.

I do think that Dutch people have a better starting point in learning Swedish, and those studying English have an even better one. Swedish as a language is quite young compared to other languages. Basically the foundation is a combination of German and Dutch, French, English and Latin. As we all have some knowledge of German and French, and I do consider myself fluent in Dutch and English, it makes it easier to ...
