I headed east from Nigg Ferry up a steep hill towards the headland North Sutor. I was pleased to find a path leading away from the road towards the cliff edge. We think we have found the best place to stay in Nairn, the guest house Invernairne, perched on a bluff over Moray Firth, with a magnificent view of the sea, a beautiful garden, and a pathway down to what seems like an endless beach. My final day on the Black Isle was dry but with less sunshine and wind than the previous day. It was a straightforward walk, mainly along the B 9163 which runs along the north shore of the peninsula. There was little opportunity to get down to the shoreline.
