... products, of which we have quite a few things fitted to our car, including shockies, bull-bar, roof-rack, winch, fridge, etc. This meant that they had a good understanding of what products we needed/wanted for our car.

Post-repairs, we have noticed a marked improvement in ride and fuel economy, and we have the confidence to tackle whatever road conditions the rest of the trip may bring.

... but it was guzzled up quickly as everyone was famished after so long in the water. Having not expended enough energy, the kids brought out the shields and swords and proceeded to fence next to the cottage. The sun was still beating down, so we returned to the lake for an hour, apart from Alex who had fallen asleep and was taking a much-needed power nap. ... a large frog, as well as a small adder. The boys rushed up to it, but luckily they recognised the distinct triangles across the snakes back and stayed clear. We watched it wind up the verge and slither into a small hole under a stone. I got a shot off before it disappeared. Very happy to have seen one and clearly distinguishable from a grass snake.

Once at the mill, we ordered coffees and ice-creams ...

... for food for the next 3 days. Feeding 10 people is not cheap and we filled two trolleys (admittedly a large part of the bill was water, coke, whisky and beer!) before heading back down to the lake with the dinghy for some more water-cooled fun with the boys. A cool beer sat on the grass watching the boys burn their energy in the water was a nice reminder that this is how holidays should be spent! We were planning to go kayaking this ...
