... course, on this trip, I need not have worried – there were plenty of open seats and we are right on schedule. The peace and quiet in first class was nice, though. Using the GPS as a guide, we made the transit in about 3-1/2 hours at speeds generally around 110 mph…and extremely quiet. Throwing in the internet access made this a really convenient travel method – one I would like to see us adopt in more places.

The Sunday breakfast was great - Eggs Benedict, omelets, champagne and caviar! After we docked we took the tenders (our lifeboats) to shore. Karlskrona was founded in 1685 by King Karl who wanted an ice-free port for the Swedish Naval base. It is on the southern end of Sweden and only has 30,000 residents.
