On April 7th, Lewis sends the keelboat and about a dozen men back downriver, along with maps, reports, Indian artifacts, and boxes of scientific specimens for Jefferson. A crew of 33 heads west, traveling in two pirogues and six smaller dugout canoes. Sacagewea, her husband and baby boy, one black slave plus Seaman (the dog). (She and her husband went ...

However, by the time I'd reached my destination I was done! Definitely ready for a break from the driver's seat.

Happy 10th Birthday today to sweet Grand Daughter Kristen Jane! Left Wall SD today, traveling through South Dakota. Interesting deer sculpture at the truck stop. Along this route lots of Sunflower fields and the most round hay bales I have ever seen in one area! Stopped off at the rest area near chamberlain SD for lunch. Beautiful views of the Missouri River here as well as a cool exhibit about Lewis & Clark. Stayed the night in Sloan Iowa. ...
