    The hope slide which took place in in January 1965 claimed the lives of 4 people. 2 were recovered and the other 2 are buried in the remains.     ... and told us we would have to go back into the US to sell Bessy before we left Canada on the 27 September (luckily our last destination is just on the border). He flagged our passports and said we could not leave the country until our license plate went back across into the US. Unfortunately for us, a guy Matt was chatting to at the local RV dump in Fernie said it would be worth the paperwork, we could get a lot more than we paid for her in Canada...so I guess we have 2 1/2 months ...

    ... speed as well.

    The team at the first aid station were great ,checking him out for concussion and substance abuse etc etc.. and the best part was , it was all free.

    He is fine now, back on the beers and not seeing double anymore so his pool games can only get better....

    They encourage helmets now and I can see why – compacted snow does hurt..

    ... highway so easily accessed. Today was 'the' day for watching the whales, dolphins and porpoises. Mating season up here right now. Many whales were breaching and schools of dolphins right beside the shore. At Eagle Gorge we hiked down to the beach and collected shells and took many photos. The Gorge has very interesting rock formations and shows just how much erosion over the many thousands of years changes the coastline. Headed back ...

    ... We head up for Kootenay NP, taking the old highway in which they say there are more chances to see wildlife. No way, we are not lucky today. A short stop at Vista Lake is all for today at Banff.
    We enter Kootenay with no information at all, as I said, the visitor center is in the middle of the park, and I think there should be one at each entrance...
