... us to his house where he lives with Aunty Cath and my cousin Jack. Before long our eyes were falling and we were off to bed for a 4 hour nap! Once we were up we went and bvisited mum's other brother Danny, his wife Margaret and my cousin Frank. Back home and my cousin Natalie and her little one Archie had arrived. Frank swung past with my other cousin Danny (who tried to persuade us to a halloween do at the rugby club!) but to no avail ...
Luton, England, United Kingdom bronandjosh09... One must learn to take the highs and the lows. I still prefer bliss with misery as opposed to complaicent routine. I went to Costa Coffee chain store and layed on thier nice couches and slept ofr an hour. I stayed put in my reserved seat, 4 hours, reading eating and drinking. Phantom of the Opera, Chocolate muffin and the hugest coffee you have ever seen. (Gross by the way, dont ever drink english coffee). I was right on time for this flight. Once in Paris, I ...
Luton, England, United Kingdom tissnseven- The rock salt here is a pinkish red color- 6 inches of snow has the ability to shut down an entire city (OK, I'm done talking about the snow)- 6 inches of snow in 2009 and 6 million people decide to not go to work (OK, I still can't get over it) - British people really don't like the French (at least the ones that I've met, like my Professors)- "One Under" is what it's called when someone jumps into the line of the moving tube- If the royal family has a son and ...
London, England, United Kingdom hellotaraOn Friday, Katlyn and I met up with a couple of other friends for Tea at a place so uniquely named, Tea. Then we made the trek up to Abbey Road to see the place where the Beatles recorded some of their albums. Definitely a cool area, but there happened to be quite a bit of traffic. Then, that night was my Christmas Party for Hotcourses. I got to go on a river-dinner cruise on a boat down the Thames. We got on the boat named the Golden Salamander and had a champagne reception. That was ...
London, England, United Kingdom phillipsb1... for a last coffee together. Then I caught a cab back to Libbee's but hlf way there I realized that I had left a bag at the coffee shop with the guys and had to go all the way back to collect it. Just as well it was still there, that was my €180 leather hand bag. So in total since I got picked up at the hotel to when I got dropped off at the hotel we did a total of 4686kms London to London. You know you love me XoXo
London, England, United Kingdom tbling... of the place virtually compels you to pick up some or other book and walk about the lawns discussing something profound with someone wearing tweed, an audience of clouds listening in. Or is that just me? I've often thought that I want to take a philosopher's book, any philosopher's book, and go and sit on a college lawn and read a few lines. Then when people asked me what I did in Cambridge I could say that ...
London, United Kingdom swuggyThursday/Friday 13th / 14th December I had been sleeping on my grey jumper for a week, awaiting the salary I needed before I could get a pillow. I had the money already no doubt but I was being amazingly sensible when it came to the money-department, I had to think about upcoming fees such as dental care, the Dutch tax-receiving still had to be closed and paid back and there was the possibility that I would be enrolling for some evening courses in January. Pillow-wise I found ...
London, United Kingdom verlander... to stay Down Under long term, but then I have no real plans to come home either. I'm just going to see what happens or how long the money lasts, for now looking at 4-6 months. I quite fancy working abroad, Dubai or Europe, I have a possibility of IT contract work in Christchurch, NZ or I might do some VSO work back in Africa. Who knows? Well not me at the moment. Toodle Ooo for the time being.
London, United Kingdom tomhowkins... pizza between us at the outrageous airport prices! The flight back was not too bad considering it was Easyjet, always a bit cosy but it seemed to go pretty quickly and i didnt struggle too much from the night before, unlike steve who seemed to struggle the whole way!! Back at Luton Airport the call was put in for Burger King after i checked my bags in for my flight to Madrid and to be fair it went down a treat. Said my farewells to Steve and I was on my way to my second leg of the journey!
Luton, United Kingdom garth_travel... We soon abandoned Darryl, however, no longer able to resist the call of Primark (think if Ross and Target mated.) It was a huge store packed to the brim with ridiculously low priced clothing ranging from 2 pounds to 10, which didn't seem so ridiculously low priced to me considering the $2 to the pound exchange rate. Inside, I followed Kira through the throngs as she tried on all of the latest summer fashions. Apparently, this year it is in fashion to ...
