I’m actually writing this on the plane which we got on about 3pm. We went for a quick breakfast this morning at a café around the corner which is attached to a car wash so enjoyed the people watching there. The food and service was a bit ordinary but it’s not their core business and we didn’t want to trust the hotel food. So Airways Car Wash Café gets (6 ½ out of 10) a pretty good rating as the coffee was good. ...

Après Big Sur or Hwy 1, entre San Francisco et Santa Monica, on arrive à Los Angeles, qui était le point le plus sud –ouest des E.U à atteindre. We were surprised at how hazy it was - called " dune gloom " apparently and not caused by smog but the cool air coming off the ocean. The hottest time of the day here is about 4 00pm, as the fog lifts. So today we left New Zealand and headed to the USA. We checked out of the accommodation at 9, and it was raining in Auckland, so we were wearing our warm winter clothing. We had a bit of time at the airport before our 1 o'clock flight but there weren’t many shops of food stops, so Connor got very cross that he couldn’t get a subway, as it was the other side of security.

... slow. Don't mind security, but it was so slow. After security there was nothing in the airport. Leeds & Bradford airport had more shops! We were hoping to buy some sun lotion, not a chance here.

The first flight was at 2.30pm and we arrived in Mexico at 7.00pm, then we had to wait until 11.55pm. There were quite a few shops, but still no sun lotion. We grabbed a bite to eat and edited a few more pictures.

We arrive in Chile tomorrow. ...
